Ryno Nel began his academic journey with a Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting, followed by advanced professional qualifications through the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA). He was awarded the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting in May 2012 and achieved the ACMA CGMA designation in July 2019 — reflecting his dedication to continuous growth and expertise in financial and management disciplines.

Ryno launched his professional career in 2009 at a construction company, laying the groundwork for his development in finance and operations. In 2011, he joined Freshworld, an export marketing company specializing in fresh produce, as a Cashbook and Creditors Clerk. He then transitioned within the same group to Freshvest, where he advanced into Financing and Foreign Exchange roles, gaining invaluable experience in corporate finance.

In 2017, Ryno took a pivotal step by joining Wauko, initially working in the Asset Rentals division before transitioning into the Information Technology department in 2019/2020, where he now serves as the organisation’s Technology Officer. His journey demonstrates his unique ability to adapt, learn, and thrive across diverse functions and industries — combining extensive expertise in both finance and IT.

Ryno’s passion for technology extends beyond his professional responsibilities; he actively seeks to expand his skills in software and coding, reflecting a forward-looking ambition to blend financial acumen with technological innovation. He is responsible for overseeing the group’s IT environment, ensuring the effective delivery of services, driving optimal system efficiencies, and fully supporting the organisation’s mission and vision.
