Pieter le Roux

Pieter qualified as a Chartered Accountant (SA) in 2006 and is an experienced entrepreneur and CEO. Pieter’s passion for foreign exchange and treasury management was birthed during the turbulent cauldron of the 2007-2008 Global Financial Crisis.

Following an exemplary 6 year term at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Stellenbosch, which involved managing the audits of global corporations to SME’s and non-profits, Pieter joined the Freshworld Group.

During his 7 years at the Freshworld Group, Pieter was instrumental in the creation and growth of Freshvest.

Under his leadership Freshvest grew into a group that invested in, and provided treasury and currency management services, credit insurance services, remuneration, resources and relationship management services, compliance services and financing, mainly to organisations in the agricultural industry.

Pieter served as Managing Director of Freshvest and Financial Director of Freshworld Holdings.

With the intention to extend the benefits of his skills and experience to all industries, Pieter co-founded Wauko in 2015. Since then Pieter has grown the group’s service offering into a suite that offers a unique experience to both business and individuals.

David is a Chartered Accountant (SA) by qualification and a seasoned treasury professional with the battle scars of leading and managing entrepreneurial businesses and global supply chains. David’s treasury experience has been gained through auditing some of the larger corporate and banking treasuries in South Africa with Deloitte, three years as a treasury analyst in bp’s global treasury in London and managing treasury risks at the coal-face of small and medium sized businesses back in South Africa. During his time at bp, David was involved in currency and interest rate risk management, assessing the impact of FAS 133 on bp’s SEC reporting, the integration of the treasury operations of two large acquisitions in the US, and serving as the bp representative on the WallStreetSystems (treasury management system) user group for motivation of system enhancements and FAS133 readiness. This user group included treasury representatives from Ford, Siemens, Nokia, Proctor & Gamble and Hewlett Packard. David is responsible for overall business development throughout the group. His passion is guiding clients along their journey towards the enlightening realisation of how much value proper foreign exchange and cash flow risk management can add to a business.

Loyiso Dotwana

Loyiso has worked as a civil engineer in design and project management for more than 20 years. He specialised in design and contract administration of township services, rural, urban and national roads. He has been involved in the conceptual and detailed design of bulk services for the Coega Industrial Development Zone in Port Elizabeth. Loyiso founded Illiso Consulting (Pty) Limited, one of South Africa’s largest black owned consulting engineering companies, of which he is currently a director and the major shareholder. Loyiso is also founder, shareholder and non-executive director of Afrimat Ltd, a diversified mining and construction materials company listed on the JSE since 2006. Loyiso has been a shareholder and non-executive director of the Wauko Group since 2018.
